The Ethnic Minorities in Canterbury (EMIC), formerly known as the Ethnic Minority Independent Council, was set up in 1998 to address issues affecting people from minority ethnic backgrounds in Canterbury and District.
EMIC was officially registered as a CIO in November 2022.
We are focused on building strong networks of partners across both statutory and non-statutory sectors.
We are an umbrella organisation that works as a conduit for the different ethnic and minority groups, aiming to give them a collective voice.
