Through this project, we aim raise awareness of type 2 diabetes within the BAME communities (Bangladeshi, Indian, Chinese, Black African and Caribbean communities) in the Canterbury District.
The aims of the project include:
• to reduce one or more risk factors for type 2 diabetes among members of the community,
• to improve awareness of the key diabetes messages
• to increase accessibility to the services offered
• to address any misconceptions about the risk of diabetes
Our Community Outreach providers have put together a range of excellent leaflets and informational material to raise awareness on Type 2 Diabetes, please share in your respective communities:
EMIC is very grateful for the generous project funding received from the Channel Ports Community Fund and Kent Community Fund (KCF).
