Romanian Community in Canterbury

The Romanian Community in Canterbury – RCC (in Romanian know as Comunitatea Românilor din Canterbury, Kent) is a very active partner of EMIC.

It is  formerly know as the Romanian Social Club in Canterbury, which was founded in 2014, by a group of volunteers from a wide range of professional backgrounds, living locally since the 1990s, 2000s and the 2010s. It is a non-profit and non-political social group, open to Romanian members from all genders, all ages, all ethnicities and professional backgrounds. Its aims are to promote social inclusion in the British society and cultural integration and exchange between the local Romanian expat community and all other ethnic communities living locally.

Thanks to EMIC’s support and excellent collaboration, RCC has organised a number of social and cultural events, both for the Romanian and the wider local community.

To exemplify, check out our video below of a successful attempt to teach a dance called “Hora” to the attendees to the Romanian Community Table organised in collaboration with EMIC.
