The project works to bring together BAME communities in East Kent to build strong and resilient relationships to address issues of COVID 19 and any associated effects.
Aims of the project are: To raise awareness of the higher risk of COVID 19 within the BAME communities, mainly Asian and African communities, to reduce isolation, to disseminate accurate information on COVID, to have a peer support forum for those working on the front line ,to signpost to services and practical help and gather information.
EMIC is collaborating with Zimbabwe Diaspora Health Alliance to implement this project. The project is supported by funding from Govt COVID Emergency fund and The National Lottery Community fund. Meetings are held on ZOOM at 7pm every Wednesday in July to begin with.
