COVID-19
Emerging evidence suggest that the Coronavirus is having a disproportionate impact on people from black, Asian and minority ethnic communities. UK hospitals are seeing black and Asian people with more severe illness than white people; with 14% of all serious illness.
BAME people are more likely to be working in key frontline work such as in crucial transport and delivery, supermarket workers, health care assistants, hospital cleaners, adult social care workers as well as in the NHS. All of which bring them into more contact with coronavirus and so increase their risk to serious-illness and death.
EMIC is committed to reach the most impacted in our community through information and support.
